FIRST HOME BUYERS' GRANT

The first home buyers' grant was introduced to provide a stimulus to economic activity as well as to give those in this category a 'leg up' in home ownership.

During March new home sales increased by 14.3%. The Housing Industry Association put this at the fourth increase in six months.

Suggestions abound regarding the forthcoming Federal Budget as to whether this grant will continue in its present form, be retained but modified, or even be withdrawn.

What are your views on this grant ? Do you think it should be retained? Could it be modified to be more environmentally effective?

Let us know what you think.
